A little bird had a word in my ear. She told me what was happening here, Just as I thought when I'd go away, Bold little mice would come out to play. So heed this warning and be polite, Or gosts and gouls will visit this night, I may be somewhere far far away, But trust me on this, I KNOW where you stay.

Durrow is full of poetry...the kind of poetry that doesnt manifest itself in metrical form necessarily...but it is there..just look around you...it is even to be found drinking a pint and having fun in the local "gin joints"

Don Paterson In the same way that the mindless diamond keeps one spark of the planet's early fires trapped forever in its net of ice, it's not love's later heat that poetry holds, but the atom of the love that drew it forth from the silence: so if the bright coal of his love begins to smoulder, the poet hears his voice suddenly forced, like a bar-room singer's -- boastful with his own huge feeling, or drowned by violins; but if it yields a steadier light, he knows the pure verse, when it finally comes, will sound like a mountain spring, anonymous and serene. Beneath the blue oblivious sky, the water sings of nothing, not your name, not mine.

Hello everybody! We're still digging out from the blizzard over here! We got about a foot of snow, but some places, like Connecticut, got hammered--3-4 ft. Glad I don't live there. And we got more snow last night which continues into today. Walking the sidewalks is a challenge, but if one is careful, one will do just fine.

Or this one, to put you in the mind of Spring!!! I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high, o'er vales and hills. When all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils. Beside the lake, beneath the trees; fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine, and twinkle on the Milky Way, they stretched in never-ending line along the margin of a bay. Ten-thousand saw I at a glance, tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced, but they outdid the sparkling waves in glee. A poet could not but be gay, in such a jocund company. I gazed-and gazed and little thought, what wealth the scene to me had brought. For oft, when on my couch I lie, in vacant or in pensive mood. They flash upon the inward eye, which is the bliss of solitude. For then, my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils. -William Wordsworth

Read more poetry! Like this one... Whose woods these are, I think I know His house is in the village, though He will not see me stopping here, to watch his wood fill up with snow My little horse must think it queer to stop without a farmhouse near between the woods and frozen lake the darkest evening of the year He gives his harness bells a shake to ask if there is some mistake the only other sound's the sweep of easy wind and downy flake The woods are lovely, dark and deep But I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep -R.Frost
