Thank you,Seamus, from Dublin for the website information. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the pearl mussels. I remember seeing lots of these mussels in the sandy banks of the Nore when I was growing up in Dunmore. Too bad they are dying off. This story was a real treat. Thanks again Seamus for giving us the site info.

Dan so look forward to viewing the website. I think it's great considering it is all voluntary. How about the Parish Council or some other body contributing after all it is putting Durrow on the map and alot of time effort and expertise goes into the upkeep of it. well done. It is much appreciated

i was fishing up by the old convent recently and theres signs up along the river in every europeon language about putting the pike back. Is it that bad that there killing them again like the germans used too a few years back? It kinda concerns me cos i fish around england alot and theres the same signs up about the carp population dwindling due eastern europeans taking them home for dinner. My granny was from durrow and i love fishing the Erkina, any pike anglers out there,i would love to know if u know anymore cos the lads in bobs bar and the castle arms wernt to sure as they only go for the salmon and trout! much apprieciated.

Great website and so tastefully done. So glad you have a delete button because that is the only drawback to an otherwise newsy entertaining site
