In reply to Morey Bergin Fugate; Cornelius Bergin and his wife Elizabeth followed their son Patrick to America in 1836, arriving in detroit November 7, 1836. Patrick arrived in New York in 1835, until His marriage to Ann Diamond at Albany , N.Y, August 7 , 1836. Cornelius and Elizabeth would be my Great,Great,Great,Great,Grandparents. I am 70 years young, and have visited Durrow in 2002, and it is a very lovely village, and the people are great. ple are great.

Agincourt is a village in northern France where on Oct. 25, 1415, Henry V of England decisively defeated a much larger French army...This victory showed the superiority of the longbow troops over the feudal knights.

Well, my-my, one week Bono is being knighted by the queen, and the next, Laois's historical name as "Queen's County" is being removed from the books. HRH is banished from Laois? Hardly so, since she can visit the di Vessi estate in Laois! No? And she wouldn't look out of place in 'Castle Durrow,' now, would she? I wonder how Her Majesty feels about all this. I remember my history book mentioning it was the Irishman Diermad McMurrough who invited the army of King Henry V to help him (Diearad) fight his battles. (Oh, by the way, anyone interested in military history should read the brilliant Battle of Agincourt--continued next post...
